Our Story: From Idea to Initiative
The idea for CPL Waterloo emerged from discussions about the Canadian Premier League's (CPL) expansion plans and the potential of the Waterloo Region market. Recognizing the region's strong population base and existing soccer culture, the concept was developed as a unique fan-owned model, inspired by successful community-owned teams. We aim to provide a stable, authentic, and democratically controlled professional soccer club for the tri-cities, ensuring a lasting legacy for the community.
